The Wine Trail of Controguerra comprises the boroughs of Martinsicuro, Nereto, Colonnella, Ancarano, Torano Nuovo and Controguerra and among the participating authorities are the province of Teramo, the Tourist Board of Civitella del Tronto and Aprutina Tours. The production area begins at the coast of Alba Adriatica and reaches Torano Nuovo, Colonnella and Controguerra from which the red wine gets it‘s name and which is the only area where it is produced. This wine trail also follows an historic artistic trail that winds through the Val Vibrata, touches Campli, with the necropolis of Campovalano nearby, thenon to Civitella del tronto and Teramo. The products under the tutelage of this wine trail are the Controguerra DOC, Montepulciano d‘Abruzzo DOC and Trebbiano d‘Abruzzo DOC.
