The Wine Trail of the Colline Lucchesi and Montecarlo comprises the boroughs of Lucca, Capannori, Montecarlo, Porcari and Altopascio and among the participating authorities are the Chamber of Commerce of Lucca, the Wine Tourism Movement and the Consortium for DOC wines. The area north of Lucca has many nature trails that wind through the hills where you can admire ancinet olive groves and vineyards. Beautiful villas from the 1500s and 1800s, monasteries and churches with their belltowers stand in this magnificent landscape, protected from the northern winds and with a mild climate. The products under the tutelage of this wine trail are Colline Lucchesi DOC and Montecarlo DOC.
