The Wine Trail of the DOC Primitivo di Manduria and Lizzano comprises the boroughs of Taranto San Giorgio Jonico, Carosino, Pulsano, Leporano, S. Marzano, Sava, Faggiano, Lizzano, Manduria, Avetrana, Erchie, Torre S. Susanna and Oria. The itinery of this wine trail begins in Taranto, also known as the city of the two seas, then winds on to San Giorgio Jonico, passes through Lizzano, whose origins date back to the iron age, and on to Manduria, ancient “messapica” city. The products under the tutelage of this wine trail are the Primitivo di Manduria DOC and Lizzano DOC.
