The Wine Trail of the Moscato of Noto and Moscato di Siracusa comprises the boroughs of Noto, Palazzolo Acreide and Siracusa. The area faces the Ionian Sea where the coast is broken by the bays of Augusta and Noto, separated by rocky spurs that offer protection for Siracusa. Apart from the wine that gives the trail it‘s name Siracusa boasts another DOC: a white Moscato of Siracusa, produced only in the immediate vicinity of the city, from Moscato Bianco grapes subjected to a short drying out.
