APULIA

 
This is a region of Southern Italy which offers it’s visitors an oasis of tranquility in a countryside which is still uncontaminated. For this reason over the last few years the tourist industry has expanded. The Apulia is, however, one of the regions richest in history which is another reason for visitors to come here and see it’s interesting cities of art. The landscape of the Apulia has a few calcareous mountains but mostly gently rolling hills and plains. The capital of the region is Bari and the other provinces are Brindisi, Foggia, Lecce, Taranto and Barletta Andria Trani. The Gargano, or the Spur of Italy, is an imposing promontory in the province of Foggia stretching 70 km into the Adriatic Sea that surrounds it to the north, east and south, only to the west is the Gargano connected to the Tavoliere delle Puglie. It covers an area of about 2000 sq.km. and includes the Gargano National Park.
