MARCHE

A region of central Italy reaching down to the Adriatic coast. But best known for it’s rolling hills which make the countryside picturesque and unforgettable. When one talks of this region one must not forget to divide it into three parts, that of the sea and coastline, of the hills and of the mountains. Between the hills you will find old villages and castles where you can relive the history and art of the region. The highest mountain range in the region is the picturesque Sibillini chain, set between the provinces of Fermo, Ascoli Piceno and Macerata, where the already mentioned Mount Vettore (2478m), shared with Umbria is the most imposing. Other important mountains in the region are: Mount Nerone (1526 m), Mount Catria (1702 m), Mount San Vicino (1479 m), Mount Rotondo (2103 m), Mount Fema (1575 m), Mount Priora (2334 m), Mount Bove (2143 m), Mount Sibilla (2175 m), Mount Vallelunga (2221 m), Mount Porche (2335 m).
