MOLISE

The Molise is the smallest and youngest region in Italy. The youngest because it was only in 1963 that it separated from Abruzzo acquired it’s own juridical autonomy. It is situated in the southern Center of Italy on the Adriatic Sea. The territory is divided almost equally between mountains inland and coastal plains. The mountains are a continuation of the Appenine Ridge of Abruzzo and the more important mountain groups are the ranges of Mainarde and Matese. However the Molise is best known for it’s 30 kms of beaches with every facility and it’s well equipped seaside resorts such as Termoli, Setacciato, Montenero and Campomarino.
