It is one of the northern regions of Italy and is divided into seven provinces, Venice, the regional capital, Belluno, Padova, Rovigo, Treviso, Verona, and Vicenza. The landscape is varied from the mountainous part with lush valleys and thick woods to the lakes and green pastures. On the hill sides and plains there are many vineyards and orchards whereas on the Adriartic coast you‘ll find lovely beach resorts with very good facilities. For a long time Veneto was an area of poverty and emigration and now, due to significant industrial development, it is one of the richest regions in Italy. Thanks to it's heritage of landscapes, history, art and architecture it is, with over 14 million visitors and 60 million overnight stays, one of the most visited regions of Italy.
